1990 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1

1910 Duro

Corvette is “America’s Sports Car” and has been a reliable sales performer for Chevrolet’s dealers since its introduction. The car debuted in 1953 and is in its seventh generation. Corvettes are often (affectionately) referred to by their generation number. This Corvette is a “C4.”
• C1 1953 - 1962
• C2 1963 - 1967
• C3 1968 - 1982
• C4 1984 - 1996
• C5 1997 - 2005
• C6 2005 - 2013
• C7 2014 -
Corvette took a break in 1983 and did not produce a car to sell that year. (44 cars were produced with VIN numbers denoting production in 1983 but all were destroyed except for one). Therefore, the 1984 Corvette was a very much anticipated release by both the public and Corvette enthusiasts.

When it did debut in 1984, it had changed drastically from the C3 that it replaced. It had an evolved, sleek look and was the first general production Corvette with a glass hatchback. This car was donated to the museum in January 2015 by the widow of a Corvette enthusiast. It has a 350 cubic inch V8 and a six speed transmission. It is a very respectable example of a C4 and we are proud to have it as part of our permanent collection.
