Welcome to The Murphy Auto Museum

The Murphy Auto Museum, located in Oxnard, California, is a collection of over 90 beautiful vintage automobiles and Americana housed inside a 30,000 square foot facility. Our unique collection spans from 1903 to present day.

We are also home to one of the largest H/O scale train layouts, with many scale miles of track. Enjoy watching passenger and freight trains as they wind their way through cities, towns and the countryside.

We are open on Saturdays and Sundays, January through March, from 10am-4pm and Fridays 10am-4pm April through December, or by appointment for special groups. We have exciting new exhibits planned each quarter in our main showroom and various community activities throughout the year. We hope you come visit us soon!

1963 Studebaker Wagonaire Daytona
The 1963 Studebaker Wagonaire was designed by famed industrial designer, Brooks Stevens, the same designer who designed the iconic Kaiser Jeep Wagoneer the same year. The car was also the first American station wagon to include standard front disc brakes and a built in vanity mirror for the ladies. Despite its innovative design, the car only lasted three years, as Studebaker ceased production at the end of 1966.

Studebakers & Packards
Exhibit runs: Jan 7-March 31, 2018

In US automotive history, the name “Packard” once stood for fine engineering, long life, great 12-cylinder luxury cars, early racing success and, in its last years, technical innovation. From World War 1 until its merger with Studebaker in 1954, a span of more than thirty years, Packard was America's only entirely independent auto company dedicated exclusively to the manufacture of the finest possible cars. We have some of the finest examples of Packards & Studebakers on display.

American Pickups
Exhibit Runs: April 7-June 17, 2018

Pickup trucks are uniquely American. The Italians gave the world sexy sports cars; the Japanese, fuel efficient economy cars and the Germans, high performance and luxurious highway cruisers. But only America produced pickups better than anybody else.
