Thank you to all our vistors, family, friends and fans who made the Airstream event and Modernism Party so much fun. Thanks to FrankE DelMonico for making us laugh and swooning all of us off our seats and onto the dance floor. Retro Roadside Photgraphy was there, selling incredible photographs. Thank you to Chris Burko from Attaboy Vintage for mixing up the drinks. Artist Jane Gottlieb and Mike Stenhrenberger showed their car art which is now on permanent display. Thanks to Garth Ratliff for loaning the mid-century furniture display in our main showroom and Hollywood Airstream Designer, Randy Gomez. Thank you to all our volunteers, we couldn't do it without you. Oh, and the biggest thank you of all to David Neel, Owner and Director, you make it all happen.
The Murphy Auto Museum, in conjunction with Airstream of Los Angeles, will be hosting a new Airstream trailer display for one day only on Saturday, July 19, 2014. Feed your wanderlust spirit by peering into several new 2014 and 2015 Airstream trailers and motorhomes. Airstream has been making trailers since 1936 and their rich history and iconic design is timeless.
This can't miss event re-creates the Mad Men inspired chic-party atmosphere of a mid-1950s party, complete with mid-century modern furniture, art show, vintage cars and more. See the events photos on Facebook.

OPEN HOUSE TRAILER SHOW IN THE PARKING LOT

At our museum, RV means Retro Vintage and we had over 24 of the coolest camping trailers you ever saw assembled in one place, many of which were super unique and rare.
Thanks to all our fellow Trailerites who participated in the show! Thank you to Connie Korenstein who coordinated the vintage fashion show and the Sea Hunters for the live music, to our all our food Vendors, and of course, our dedicated docents, we couldn't have done it without you!

We had a HUGE turnout. Thank you to all who came down to enjoy the day with us! Thanks to all the wonderful vendors and the car collecting bunch who brought their vintage pickup trucks & station wagons. We had a great time throwing the Pickups & Station Wagons parking lot party and Vintage Flea Market. A big thank you to The Underground Gourmet Food Truck who served mouth watering gourmet burgers, savory tacos and delectable sandwiches all day. And a special thank you to our exhibit and event sponsor, Santa Paula Chevrolet.
My Generation Corvette Exhibit

The Murphy Auto Museum currently has three generations of Corvettes on exhibit inside the Museum.
Vehicles on display include:
1960 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster, 1964 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible, 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray, 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, 1986 Chevrolet Corvette.

Thank you to all who made it out to our first Vintage Trailer Show. It was a huge success! Look for our next show Glamping & Vintage Trailer Show June 28, 2014.
The Murphy Auto Museum will be showcasing a collection of privately owned vintage travel trailers and the public is invited to attend the Open House! Trailers will be open for viewing one day only on Saturday, June 22nd from 10:00 till 3:00 pm. Come out and see Shastas, Airstreams, Rangers, Fireballs, Cardinals, Silver Streaks and many others. The owners of the trailers will be giving you tours of their rigs, complete with period correct accessories and in some cases, the vintage cars that pull them. Come out and see the only show like this in Ventura County this year! Parking is free and a small donation fee gets you in to see the trailers and the cars inside the museum.
All Generations Corvette Show

California Car Covers provided a Golden Shine Car Care Kit for a prize. We are proud to have the support of both the Ventura Corvette Club and Red Line Corvettes. These fine clubs have agreed to display over two dozen of their Corvettes, spanning all six generations. Additionally, The Murphy Auto Museum currently has three generations of Corvettes on exhibit inside the Museum.
Travel on 2 Wheels: Scooters and Early American Motorcycles Exhibit

Exhibits from the collections of : Todd Huber, Skate Lab, Simi Valley CA; David Hansen, The Shop, Ventura CA; Daniel Schonewald, Camarillo, CA. As gas prices do go up, maybe we'll ride scooters again. They can go a 100 miles with a gallon of gas. The Murphy Auto Museum is displaying several scooters. Fans of old V-twin Iron will be interested to see several motorcycles from The Shop's collection. If you have been watching the TV show American Pickers, these are the bikes they would dream of finding. These are an Excelsior, Thor, Pope, and a red Indian. We even borrowed an engine cut-away that shows the inner workings of an engine.
